Siemens desk phone in green colour with rotary dial. The term "FeTAp" concerns the series desk phones and is linked with the name of the German federal post office, from 1961 until the 1980s. The first two digits refer to the design year, in 1961. This particular model -green edition - was marketed in 1974. The series' essential feature is the ability to be upgraded or repaired, since its main parts can be replaced without the need of special tools and in a short period of time. At the same time, its clean plastic cover contributed for the first time to the expansion of recycling. The series aimed at replacing the massively produced W48 as devices tended to be considerably lighter, more compact and easy to use.
