Automatic metal wireless telegraph transmitter of Great Northern Telegraph Works, model 112, Danish-made. It consists of three parts: the motor, the speed regulator (words per minute,) and the transmitter mechanism. It is a high-speed transmitter of telegraph messages established in the 1950s, catering for the needs of big national and international telegraph networks. The model 112 of the Danish Speed Great Northern Telegraph Works was the most reliable device and could adjust the message delivery speed (words per minute), thus being compatible and operational with most telegraph systems at that time. Black Bakelite base 405 x 70mm. Tape transmitter mounted on left hand end above double switch. Marked G.N.T. CO TRANSMITTER MODEL 112 No. 83498. White fuse mounted behind. Black Bakelite glass sided speed regulator mounted in centre marked SPEED IN WORDS PER MINUTE with large dial 15 – 240 in centre and G.N.T. Co SPEED REGULATOR MODEL
