The mayors, community presidents and municipality councilors of Psachna, Kastella, Triada and Politika in Evia are informing government officials, political leaders, MPs and the press about the destruction of the region's potato crop reaching 100%. Potato growers, they say, face the aspect of starvation as they have no other source of income and seek state assistance, namely financial support of one thousand drachmas per stremma, suspension of debts for a decade and the provision of interest-free loans.
