Connection device for telegraph lines

DImensions: 15 x 59 x 27,5 cm Material: bakelite,wood,metal

Connection device for submarine wired telegraph lines. Every switch has the characteristic feature of high strain to withstand the high electric voltage of the submarine telegraph. The materials are wood, metal and Bakelite. The specific connection device of the submarine telegraph lines is distinguished by the height of each bronze part in Bakelite cover. The possible uses of the connection device are on the one hand the trials-checks of the different lines, but also for the insulation of the lines. The said object has undergone great wear and damage, however, there have been island labeling possibly referring to the local stations, whereas the telegraph stem sockets have sheet metal-connecting switches, thereby reinforcing the case that it was a connection device for telegraph lines.
