The banker Stamatios Bouros

Telegram, whereby the sender (Stroumpos) asks the recipient, the banker Stamatios Vouros, to send five hundred pounds to the sons of P. Papagiorgos (Figli di P. Pappagiorgo) to Vienna. Stamatios Dekozis Vouros (1872-1881) was a grand trader and banker from Chios. Following the destruction of Chios by the Ottomans in 1822, he settled in Vienna, where he did business in the banking sector. After his stay in Istanbul for a period of time, and following the establishment of the Greek State in 1832, he moved in Athens permanently, establishing his own banking house and continuing his trading business. Vouros built one of the first mansions in Athens, built according to the plans of architects, Lueder and Hoffer. King Otto stayed in his residence from 1836 until 1843
