The term Asia Minor Campaign refers to a series of military events that occurred after World War I, during the partitioning of the Ottoman Empire, between May 1919 and October 1922. After the operations of the Greek troops against Ankara were terminated, the Greek army started to retract. On June 1921, the Greek army took Eski Sehir, where it established its headquarters. The Asia Minor Army executed a wide clean-up operation in September in order to avoid a potential hostile attack against Eskişehir.
