DImensions: 25 x 20,5 cm Location: Japan, Tokyo, OTE Material: telegraphic paper
Telegram in English whereby Gunze trade company informs Papathanasiou on the delivery of polyethylene yarns to Piraeus. The telegram has been marked as "censored" because it was sent a few days after the coup d' etat of 21 April 1967. Nikos Papathanasiou was a merchant who imported metallic fittings and construction materials (wires, canvas, plastic) from Italy but also from Japan, as shown by the telegram. Gunze Trade is a Japanese company founded in 1896 by Tsuruki Hatano as a silk fabrication industry. It became renowned in the Greek Interwar Period as a company of underwear and nylon tights, opening branches in America. Since the 1960s it expanded in the plastics and synthetic materials production sector.
