Ochre automatic Bakelite desk phone with a metal base featuring a white rotary volume control. It is fitted with a transparent plastic rotary dial with a brown inner ring and a black earthing button on the bottom. It has one grey braided handset cord and one round grey line cord. The device marked East Germany's endeavour to radically change the industrial design, setting the basis for later models manufactured until the mid-1980s. Since the beginning of the 1970s, the manufacture of this type continued, only with a plastic instead of Bakelite casing.
