Berliner telephone wall set

Location: Austria Material: metal,bronze,wood

Wooden (mahogany) magneto wall telephone. In the centre was the bronze transmitter and on the bottom, a bronze bell. To the left was a bronze hook on which rested the receiver, a bronze microphone with a black mouthpiece with wooden lining, which was connected to the phone device with a black cloth line cord. This particular company was established by Emile Berliner in 1877, who having seen Graham Bell's invention, tried to expand the use of the telephone. After a year-long study at Bell Laboratories, and with lengthy disagreements in relation to establishing patent rights, he was able to implement the single transmitter, which with its smaller size and weight would be able to be incorporated in the portable telephone device.
