Commercial telegram
DImensions: 16,5 x 21,5 cm Location: France, Lyon Material: telegraphic paper
Telegram of commercial character through which the mining company Vanimilo informs Serpieri company in Athens about the mining cargo transferred to Lavrio. The exploitation of manganese deposit in open-cast mining in Cape of Milos was undertaken by "Vani-Milos" company, of which major shareholder was the French company Roux-Serpieri (Serpieris' company). Manganese was sold abroad while one part of that (usually inferior) was sent to the foundries of the mining in Lavrio where it was used as a reagent for the fusion of other minerals. Vani-Milo company ceased operations in Milos in December 1928, i.e. approximately a year after the sending of the telegram in question.
