Telegram of commercial nature that refers to the loading and shipment of wheat. It was one of the first telegrams processed in 1859 right after the immersion of the Athens-Syros and Syros-Chios underwater cables that enabled the telegraphic connection of Athens with Istanbul. The electric telegraph was discovered in 1836 and was imported to Greece in 1859, the sending year of the telegram by the merchant and banker Stamatios Dekozis Bourou. The installation of the first submarine telegraphic lines with the immersion of the cables between Piraeus and Syros was ratified by law on 20 of March 1859. The second submarine line between Syros and Chios which was essentially an extension of the first connected Greece via Izmir with the international telegraphic network. The installation was ratified by law on 30 June 1859. If we consider that the telegraph from Bournos was sent on 28 July of 1859, we can presume that it was one of the first telegrams processed in Greece
